Noticed that when editing a text box in visual composer - I can no longer get the dropdown for H1, h2, etc. Not sure if there are any other problems with it...but that is something we need working.
Posts and pages without VC the heading dropdown works fine.
On the svn.com site I just updated visual composer- on the staging site I updated the fox theme completely - and having problems with the theme https://svnic.staging.wpengine.com/ . Anyway turned off all the other plugins and still a problem - reverted to 2016 and it worked properly. Both on the staging
I have a problem - I inherited this project from another dev company - We purchased the theme again so that the site owners also own the theme and we can get support. I am not sure what they did, but when I try and update the fox theme - everything breaks - the original file TheFox and TheFox_child_theme is in the folder as well as: fox-child-svn - When I go to Appearance >> Themes it says that the TheFox_child_theme: Stylesheet is missing - I'm not sure how all of this is working - can you provide some assistance? Why is there a Fox child theme in with the theme? Usually I build a child theme. In the fox-child-svn is all the changes to style css [style2.css] and all the template changes.
You are currently using a really old version of the theme not compatible with version 4.6 or higher of wordpress.
What you need to do is
- Go activate a default theme of wordpress
- Go to plugins and deactivate and delete the visual composer.
- Go to your ftp and remove wp-content/themes/Thefox folder ( if you are using our child theme you may also want to remove it from the ftp and use our newest child theme )
- Install the newest version of the theme from wordpress dashboard or ftp ( and also the child theme if needed ).
- Then go to Appearance > Install plugins to install the required plugin.
Then clear the cache of server and browser and your problem should be fixed.
Do not hesitate to contact us if you have more questions.
after following your steps this is what I got: [home]
Like I said there is also a folder that is fox-child-svn seems like I need to tie this in somehow - because I am getting some pages: screen shot 2 & 3. I am at a loss how to do that - if you can help me in any way - it will be much appreciated.
If there is a custom child theme created for the theme then what you need to do is still make a clean installation of the theme and then adjust the code of the "fox-child-svn" child theme.
Make sure that the template name is correct, since 4.6 wordpress is case-sensitive.
The custom code in your child theme may not work with the newest version of the visual composer and wordpress, you may need to update the child theme code too.
The shortcode you see on the page are from the child theme custom code, so if you don't have it activated you will see the shortcode as "text"

So I pushed this site to live svn.com - but somethings are still not working - I didn't realize until I tried to finish building out a page. Background images are not showing up - and I can't control the design options - margins and padding in vc. https://svn.com/2018-tamaya/ the staff should have an image behind - color overlay seems to work but no image. Also reverting the theme to 2016 - the background images show up.
