"The file /home/wpftpuser/html/wp-content/themes/thefox/single_demo_import/demo-files/content.xml can't be read. Please change file permission to 775." and that you have tried adding "define('FS_METHOD', 'direct');" to the wp-config.php
This is a server related problem, please contact your host support and tell them about the problem and ask them to change the permissions for your folder.

I still see the same error after making these changes

Please change file permission to 775." and that you have tried adding "define('FS_METHOD', 'direct');" to the wp-config.phpMake sure that you changed the permission and modified the wp-config file.
Usually if you contact your host support they do those changes for you or at least guide you how to.
