3. Adding a child theme is a nice way to customize the theme and still be able to make update for the main theme.
Only using our child theme will not do anything unless you make modifications to it, we recommend you to use a child theme if you are looking to make modifications to our theme.

2. We'd also like the Blog Grid to display the excerpt. In one thread that's already closed, you suggested adding a child theme.
