We've been investigating why our payment takes more than 20 seconds (from clicking on the Proceed to Paypal button to seeing the Paypal page). Disabling all other plugins also has shown that it's not WooCommerce (they also went in to verify this).
After installing Query Monitor, we've noticed this is the slowest query:
UPDATE `wp_options` SET `option_value` = '1527643334' WHERE `option_name` = '_transient_timeout__redux_activation_redirect'
I think this is the Redux Framework plugin that's embedded in TheFox theme. Other themes have also experienced this slow issue and they were able to fix by upgrading the Redux plugin that came with the theme or disabling the dev_mode. Can you please help check? Do you need admin access?
Also saw "External object cache not in use" in red. Attaching screenshots.
Currently, we're using TheFox v.3.3, Child Theme v.1.5. We've currently disabled Cloudflare so we can investigate. We also don't have any caching plugins installed.
What version of Redux is TheFox using? Is dev_mode enabled? Can that be the cause?
1. No, we have the dev mode function removed from the redux part
2. We are using the version : v3.6.6.3
We are currently working on Thefox update, we will update the theme panel too just in case but that's really strange we don't have this issue on our side.
We applied the latest theme and we did see a few seconds improvement. However, it's still taking 15 seconds to redirect. We also noticed the same long-running SQL is still present.
UPDATE `wp_options`
SET `option_value` = '1527643334' WHERE `option_name` = '_transient_timeout__redux_activation_redirect'
I did some research and found this thread on a GitHub repository for Redux Framework:
The programmer @kprovance mentioned something like "For some reason, I thought I took that out a while back. It was for the upcoming beta and I forgot to update this code base too. I removed it in v.3.6.7.13, which you can download from this repo. You may have to self deploy. I have no idea when this will be updated at wp.org. Weeks, at best (not something I can do myself). Sorry about that. Hope this helps."
We already cleared browser cache before testing again. It's still taking us more than 20 seconds for both Prod and Dev. It also happens when Stripe is the chosen payment gateway.
I'll request InMotion to monitor for slow queries so I can have more info. In the meantime, could you please send us leads into how we can investigate where the conflict could be coming from?
Regarding the issue it's really strange we don't have any other customer having the same issue, when we test on our site it also seems to be working just fine.
Thank you for the response. We'll check into cleaning up our wp_options table and adding an index if needed. We're seeing those autoload and cron queries now.

Hello April,
What is the theme version you are currently using, since you use a minify plugin we couldn't tell.

Addendum: here's the slowqueries log that we've gathered for the past 24 hours. Thought it might help the investigation.
Thanks in advance.
Hello,
I'd like to follow up on my questions:
1. Is dev_mode enabled in the Redux that came with the theme?
2. What version was it? If a lower version, will you be able to upgrade it and issue a theme update soon?
Thanks,
April

Forgot to attach this. It's where the said programmer mentioned the change. What Redux version are we using now in TheFox?
I also noticed these PHP errors that seemed to be from Redux. Can you please check?
Hello April,
Notice are not important.
In the latest thefox update, we updated Redux to the newest version 3.6.9
So that's really strange did you tried to clear all the cache?

Hi! I noticed that you've released a new version for TheFox? Where can I find release notes?

Regarding the issue it's really strange we don't have any other customer having the same issue, when we test on our site it also seems to be working just fine.
