If you have padding settings set to the row that contains the columns even if you hide the columns the row will show, the padding settings should be set to the columns.

What do you mean the update is not showing on mobile?
Make sure to clear the server and browser cache you are using.
Also if you have content that is not showing correctly on mobile then you may need to create different content for desktop and mobile :
Go edit your current columns that doesn't show properly on mobile and check this box to make them hidden on mobile

Then create new columns using the content specialized for the mobile and change the columns design options like this :
