In the product archive page of my website, there is the shop sidebar created by the widget "Product Category" in the widget page.

What we want to achieve is, when a parent category is clicked, it will show all of the products in its children categories. We currently have those products assigned to the parent category as well as the child category by product category tags.

Currently, when the parent category is clicked, it only acts as an accordion to show and hide the children categories.

When I checked with the Inspect Tool on Chrome, at the parent category element, it does show an <a> with the URL that when manually pasted onto a new tab, will go a page that shows all products under that parent and child categories. 

We would like to make the parent categories in the product archive sidebar clickable so users can click on it to view all products within that category.

I would like the dropdown to show only when clicking on the down arrow on the right of a category with sub-categories. 

So clicking the category itself will show all products within that category and sub-categories.

I've attached a screenshot, in case it's not clear enough.

As you see in the screenshot, clicking the down arrow should open/close the dropdown of the sub-categories.

Then clicking the parent category will show products of all tagged products of the parent category and its sub-categories.

Hopefully there will be a patch/fix for it soon because the website is getting close to launch.

Oh wow, I did not know this is actually a custom issue.

Several other themes that I have worked with previously all had the parent categories clickable while the down arrow toggles the dropdown. I guess I assumed this was a standard Woocommerce functionality. Interesting to know.

Anyway, thanks for the help, I guess I can only find a workaround.
