Hello Alex,
1. The problem maybe the wp-optimize and w3 total cache configuaration.
For the text bog bugging I think it has something to do with the additional plugins you are using.
Also it is maybe a problem with the host service you are using shared server can be really slow sometimes.
2. You need to go edit the single-default.php line 526,
echo the_post_thumbnail(array(600, 490) );
and change the 600 ( width ) and 490 ( height ) to the size you want to use.
3. Sorry but I don't see or understand the problem, about which element left margin are you talking about?
