On my homepage, I'm trying to get a simple hero style with one image only and no transitions from the "Slider revolution", but the layers on the background keep disappearing.
I read many pages about this but none of them seems to work. I'd like to know your opinion on this.
Also what is the best way to make sure they are responsive? in your own demos, the text and the buttons would look so small and are not readable on small screens.

currently when I check your site I don't see any transitions, did you fix the problem?
For the mobile layout etc what you can do is :
first change this to on : https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4U2I7SLFLQYRWhqMEVhUFVBRkU
Then you will be able to see those buttons : https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4U2I7SLFLQYenVEMk1HQ3Y5OGc
You can change the layout and layer size depending on the screen size.

If you only have 1 slide set the slider as a Hero scene
Also please update the theme to 1.57, the version you are using is currently not compatible with WordPress 4.5
