Hello, great theme, had a problem pop back up on shop pages, where everything is pushed hard left , and the actual product(s) are missing all margins and sizing just gets way distorted and related products blow up huge, i had some custom CSS code
.woocommerce .related ul.products li.product, .woocommerce .related ul li.product, .woocommerce .upsells.products ul.products li.product, .woocommerce .upsells.products ul li.product, .woocommerce-page .related ul.products li.product, .woocommerce-page .related ul li.product, .woocommerce-page .upsells.products ul.products li.product, .woocommerce-page .upsells.products ul li.product { width: 15% !important;
that i thought worked, it got over ridden as i tried a child theme, went back, tried to restore previous versions under appearance>css editor , but can not get it to revert back to its normal self
I am not sure if the theme is overriding woocommerce files or the other way around, i re-installed everything and no luck, as the last update rendered my cart impossible to use, it just got stuck on checkout without advancing and re-installing latest version of woocommerce files through cpanel one by one, but if there is any help on CSS code or what I can do to get my product and shop pages back to normal i thank you 100000x times
It seems that the woocommerce file of our theme are not correctly installed, or it seems that you have added you own template to the theme.
Also are you using any custom plugins? That's maybe the source of the problem.
If you could try to disable the other plugins to see if it fix the problem, if not I would like you to let us check your wordpress dashboard so we can try to see what is the problem.
hello thank you for the reply, no custom plugins, or anything, it started with users not being able to use the shopping cart and checkout, it got stuck on registering a user from the checkout page. i looked under woocommerce system tab and it said files were out of date/being overridden. I downloaded most current up to date woocommerce, and updated the files manually through cpanel under wp-content/themes/thefox/woocommerce and then all seemed to work, one update later, the problem you see is there, and no css code works , i had a snipped that did, but no longer works, so everything is misaligned and pushed over and blown up. i would love for you to take a look let me know what i can do and how i can send you the info, thanks , love the product just a slight problem
I think where my disconnect is that when i download the updated Foxtheme and install that, it installs a woocommerce version/files that seem to be older than what is current with woocommerce off their site, and while aspects of it work, aspects do not ( users logging into account to pay for example ) - so i update the files like i said manually from woocommerce through cpanel then the other side gets wonky. After mixing and matching yeah, kind of stuck,
The problem is that you update the file under thefox/woocommerce.
What you need to do is just delete the theme and re-upload the theme using the latest version 1.594 and you should be able to use woocommerce without any problem.
What is the version of woocommerce you are currently using?
Also if you still have problem after re-installing the theme try to disable the additional plugin you are using ( cache plugins and all the other plugins you are using except the one included in our theme and woocomerce ) then clear the server and browser cache.
thank for the speedy response, and yes re-installing the theme does fix the alignment and spacing issues and blown and distorted pictures, the problem now is you can not proceed from shopping cart -> payment , it just hangs on checkout as guest, or register as new user...
so i manually update those files that i think are being effected or are not in the directory, through cpanel, then my users can proceed to the total screen, or register an account, and pay, but then the previous problem comes about, see the catch 22?
sorry for the lengthy and wordy messages appreciate your team and support
what it seems to be narrowed down to is the /woocommerce/checkout/checkout-form.php
when that gets overridden by the themeupdate is when all checkout freeze/holdup's occur. I manually went through each file, tested, and when I got to that one, it recognized user-log stats, and up came the proceed to paypal button and allowed for process of payments.
i think what i am asking is also is in woocommerce , there are files and directories such as /loop /notices /email
that are not included with the woocommerce folder in your theme, so assuming these are not needed then ? I suppose a child theme will then prevent this from happening each time I update as well?
Thanks again guys, will most likely extend support as your team is great with the help thanks a ton
That's really strange that this problem is occuring, could you please tell us the version of WooCommerce you are using and also if you are using any other custom plugins?
If you add a child theme and add your own woocommerce template then yes this should overwrite the file we are using in our main theme.
