I'm noticing an unfortunate pattern with the theme and the VC after the WP 4.5 update. Every time I duplicate, edit, save or move a module in the VC, the back end just locks up and the page kills. I'm only having this issue with TheFox theme. I thought the issue was VC related but the developer told me to contact you. His message is below.
Message from VC Development: "We checked the issue further and it is because there is a Visual Composer related code present in your theme added by the theme author. You will have to get rid of it. I would advise you to do so with the help of theme author, otherwise you might loose the extra elements added by him. Once this is done, you can install the standalone plugin and it will work fine. "
For security, I'm using the free versions of Wordfence and WP Spamshield.
The issue doesn't seem to persist in Firefox. It's working just fine really.
I'm a Chrome kind of guy and if I can continue using that browser when I make edits, that would be ideal. However, I'm not unreasonable so let me know if that's not possible. What are your thoughts on everything? Let me know what you would recommend for me.
Are you using any addons with chrome? also for anti virus software, I know that a customer had a problem with kaspersky and the visual composer ( yeah I know that's strange ).
I'm not using any extensions for Chrome. I was behind on an update for the browser and it seems like it made a bit of a difference, but it's still unbearably slow to work with.
I don't have the issue in Firefox so I'll rock that browser for now. No big deal, it feels like an odd issue, so I understand if it's a whole thing to diagnose. I'll make due with Firefox for right now.
