Having to delete and re-install the theme to update is horrible!! This means the site looks like shit for a couple of minutes (if update works right away). Crap, if you ask me
The plugins are a hassle to update. I was unable to update the layerslider plugin completely (messing up my site pretty good). I finally realized I could delete it and reinstall it. Still, it's far from perfect.
Next time I update, will the .po file I installed have to be re-uploaded
If possible, you should really separate your .po file from what's visible on site and what's in the admin. I don't want to spend hours to go through a bunch of admin strings when all I want to translate is stuff like "leave a comment".
Now, I notice all the small icons for the visual editor has disappeared (duplicate, edit row etc). It's just way too much annoying stuff here. Please help.
- You should be able to update the plugin from Appearance > Install plugins, except for the visual composer that required to be deleted, they prevent the auto update because they want customer to buy their theme license.
- If you are doing modifications to the theme even translate we recommend you to use a child theme.
For the icon missing, this is a cache problem, please clear your browser and server cache and you should be able to see the new icons of the new visual composer version.
Do not hesitate to contact us if you have more questions.
-Thanks for the plugin advice. You should include this in the documentation.
-Didn't work for LayerSlider either. Maybe this too should be included in the documentation?
-This child theme stuff seems super complicated after looking here. https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes . Wordpress offers a perfectly good lang folder, why not use this instead of creating a folder of your own _inside_ the theme folder? If you would have done it the "standard way" this problem shouldn't exist, right?
Btw - so if I enter stuff in the "custom css" folder, will this be deleted when updating the theme too!?
- For the LayerSlider, can you tell us the error you are having?
- We have our own lang folder in the theme, but if you update the theme the "lang" folder will be updated too and if you don't save your po file before updating the theme you will loose the file.
Using a child theme is pretty easy, you just need to upload the one that is included in our theme file ( the big file you can download from themeforest ).
- The custom css you put in the theme option panel won't be deleted even if you update the theme.
Do not hesitate to contact us if you have more questions.
That envato plugin you recommended doesn't do the trick at all (I've installed it). How do I update the theme now?
-The layerslider remark was just regarding the fact that it too can't be updated. Seems like you guys thought it was only the visual builder that coldn't be updated properly.
-Upload the child theme to where from where? FTP to some folder? I'm not prepared to google this shit for 30 mins right now.
-about the lang folder. Yes, I know you have your own lang folder - that was my point. Instead of creating your own (which means I need to install a child theme), can't you just include YOUR lang files in the main WP lang folder?
and put it in the field and click saves changes, then you will be able to see the items you have purchased and if an update is available you will be able to update the theme clicking "Update available".
1. For the layerslider this shouldn't be happening, what is the error you are having? also what is the current version you are using?
2. You just need to upload the child theme zip file like it's a wordpress theme, we joined the child theme zip file to this reply
3. This is not possible, the theme can't install and go add its own lang file to the wordpress lang folder. The theme needs to have it owns language folder.
Do not hesitate to contact us if you have more questions.
So I updated the plugin.
First of all:
Now, I notice all the small icons for the visual editor has disappeared (duplicate, edit row etc). It's just way too much annoying stuff here. Please help.
Hello Gustav,
- First for the theme update you can use this plugin to activate the auto update, so you won't need to delete the theme : https://github.com/envato/wp-envato-market

Hello Gustav,
For the Envato market plugin, when you have it installed click the "Envato Market" tab from the WordPress dashboard then generate a token from this page : https://build.envato.com/create-token/?purchase:download=t&purchase:verify=t&purchase:list=t
and put it in the field and click saves changes, then you will be able to see the items you have purchased and if an update is available you will be able to update the theme clicking "Update available".
